Research method
I conducted interviews to obtain richer data. The interviewees can share their thoughts and experiences which will help me to understand their perspectives.

I interviewed 7 people to gain their insights to enhance customers’ experience.

I also interviewed the owner to have a better comprehension on the cafe and if she has previous experiences that can be applied to this project.

Solutions
Although the majority of restaurants and cafes in the present days rely on social media application, there are certain information that are more suitable to be placed in a website than social media. Therefore, creating an attractive website that displays the information in a chronological order can be the solution to handle the pain points.

i. Adding catchy tag lines and more attractive graphics to improve the aesthetics of the website.
ii. Showing the full name of the food and drinks, including the ingredients on the website.
iii. Displaying the prices on the website (if it includes GST) and keeping it consistent across all media.
Visual Design
Prototype
I first designed a low-fidelity (lo-fi) prototype on both mobile and desktop version, so I can have a better idea on how to design the structure and flow of the website.

Iterations:
- The format of the menu – I stick to text because the owner was not able to send the images of all menus.
“You cannot take the pictures from external sources, because even though the menu is the same (e.g. egg and bacon sandwich) the ingredients might be different.” – One of my UX mentors.
- The language – I translated the content to Indonesian language because I and the owner expect that the majority of the customers are Indonesians. The local people may not understand if I keep it in English.
- Alphabetical sorting – I rearranged the menus in each section based on their alphabets.
